* W '91 'Set adrift on memory bliss' weszło na listy przebojów i w zasadzie ciężko było znaleźć miejsce, gdzie ten kawałek nie hulał. Na kasetach wychodziła masa składanek rapowych, gdzie królowały jeszcze 'Paper doll', 'If I wuz u' i 'A watcher's point of view'. W budzie na bazarku na Bródnie kupiłem sobie więc debiut PM Dawn, wydany przez piratów z EuroStar - skubańcy usunęli 'Comatose', jeden z lepszych kawałków tutaj! Od razu było słychać, że to coś innego. Świeżego, oryginalnego i nawet jeśli KRS rozwalił im koncert i wywalił ze sceny, to nie da się ukryć, że PM Dawn robili inną jakość. Chudszy z braci, DJ Minutemix, zrobił tu muzykę, łącząc i tnąc sample w taki sposób, jak nie robił tego jeszcze nikt. A Prince Be, obdarzony aksamitnym głosem większy z braci, miał to flow i potrafił nie tylko rymować, ale i śpiewać. I robił to dobrze. To było coś bez precedensu - nie do porównania z innymi albumami... Do dziś mam ogromny sentyment do tej płyty i czasem do niej wracam. Szkoda Price Be, który zmarł na nerkowe powikłania cukrzycy, szkoda Minutemix, który siedzi w pierdlu za jakieś seksualne wykorzystanie laski... Dziś PM Dawn to dwóch zupełnie innych gości: kuzyn obu braci i jakiś inny typ.
* In 1991 'Set adrift on memory bliss' hit the charts and it was difficult to find a place where they didn't play this song. In Poland we have plenty of tape compilations with songs like 'Paper doll', 'If I wuz u' and 'A watcher's point of view'. In the 90s the music market was taken by the bootleggers - there wasn't a law regulating copyrights, so they were just recording tapes from CDs they had bought abroad, they prepared a cover and sold it on markets. So I bought this album due to the bootleggers called EuroStar at a market in my district, Bródno. Them bastards didn't record 'Comatose' - one of the best songs here! When I played the album I heard, that it is something different. Fresh and original and even when KRS 1 demolished their concert and threw them outta stage, it didn't change the fact that PM Dawn started a new quality. The skinny brother, DJ Minutemix, made music, connecting and cutting samples as no one ever did before. And Prince Be, with his velvet voice, had the flow and could not only rap, but also sing. And he was good at it. That was something unusual with no comparison to the other albums at the same time. Today I am still very sentimental about this album and I come back to it from time to time. I regret Prince Be died because of diabetes kidney failure, I regret Minutemix, serving a sentence for sexual harrasement... Today's PM Dawn is a totally different group: brother's cousin and his mate.
