* Po 'The Listening' byłem raczej zajarany dokonaniami zespołu, więc druga płyta również weszła jak ręka w rękawiczkę. Sam pomysł na płytę jest niezły, czyli zrobienie jej w stylu popularnego w Stanach 'minstrel show', ale na zasadach telewizyjnego programu. To swoisty pastisz na typowe czarnoamerykańskie programy rozrywkowe - i jest to doskonała rozrywka. Nie tylko dzięki zabawnym skitom, ale również dzięki muzyce i rapperom. Beaty zapodane przez 9th Wonder, Khrysis i Holendra Nicolay to absolutny majstersztyk - Anglicy mają na to ładne słowo: soulful (duszne?). Mnóstwo pięknych sampli zapętlonych na perkusjach, świetny klimat - nic, tylko słuchać. A i Rapper Big Pooh i Phonte sroce spod ogona nie wypadli i nie tylko potrafią rymować, ale i ich stylistyka jest nienaganna. Bardzo lubię ten album, bawię się świetnie wraz z artystami i zastanawiam się: lepszy jest 'The Listening', czy 'The Minstrel Show'...?
* After 'The Listening' I was rather happy with the band releases, so the second album also came clearly as a hand into the glove. The idea for the concept is great - it was about making a popular in the USA 'minstrel show', but turned into a tv program. It's a kinda joke on typical Black American shows - and it is great entertainment indeed. Not only because of funny skits and due to the music and rappers. Beats made by 9th Wonder, Khrysis and Nicolay from The Netherlands are total championship - there's one brilliant word for that: soulful. Plenty of beautiful samples looped on the drums, nice vibe - just made to listen. And Rapper Big Pooh and Phonte didn't come out off that bird's ass and they can rhyme with excellent style. I like this album very much, I enjoy it together with the artists and I am wondering which one is better: 'The Listening' or 'The Minsterl Show'...?
