* Po głośnej porażce 'Too Legit To Quit' Hammer przysiadł i jego piąty album zaskoczył. Po pierwsze okładką: ubrany na czarno, skromnie, klęczy na jakimś żelastwie. Dwa, że za płytę odpowiadają The Whole 9, Teddy Riley i niejako Dogg Pound, czuwając nad brzmieniem - to pokłosie współpracy Hammera z Death Row Records i niewydanej płyty dla tego labelu. Poza tym duże zdziwienie wywołał nowy image Hammera: zero błyszczących firanek, ale styl gangsta i mack prosto ze szkoły Goldiego. WAT? G-funk od Hammera? No cóż, muszę przyznać, że mimo sprzeczności, obiektywnie rzecz biorąc, mnie wzięło. Fantastyczne, funkowe brzmienie jest naprawdę z górnej półki. A Hammer, choć może mało wiarygodny, to jednak radzi sobie bardzo porządnie. Fajne refreny, doskonałe podkłady, porządny klimat - mimo kontrowersji album poszedł w platynę. I do dziś pozostaje moim ulubionym albumem Hammera - a mam do niego (Hammera znaczy) duży sentyment - w końcu to od niego zacząłem słuchać hip hopu.
* After a huge fail of 'Too Legit To Quit' Hammer sat down and his fifth album surprised many. First, the cover: he kneels on some steel parts wearing black and modestly. Secondly, he album was produced by The Whole 9, Teddy Riley with some help of Dogg Pound - theis is the result of Hammer's cooperation with Death Row and his unreleased album for them. The third thing was a new image: no shiny suits, but the gangsta look and mack straight from the Goldie school. WAT? G-funk from Hammer? Well, I must say that, apart from the contradictions, objectively - I was delighted. Fantastic, funk sound is really top notch. And Hammer, maybe not so credible in that role, he's doing fine. Nice hooks, great beats, solid vibe - despite the controversy, it went platinum. And it is still my favourite Hammer's album - and I have (I mean for Hamer) a lot of sentiment - I started being dedicated rap fan from him.
