* Wyclef jako członek Fugees przeszedł do historii ze statusem legendy. Mając takie zaplecze respektu poszedł solo, robiąc to, na co żywnie miał ochotę. Zaowocowało to sporą ilością płyt, które brzmią... bardzo różnie. Pierwsze albumy trzymały jeszcze fanów Fugees, ale potem zaczęło się to rozmywać, bo Wyclef szedł w stronę swoich muzycznych korzeni - czyli na Haiti. Ma to odzwierciedlenie również na czwartym albumie Clef'a. Dźwięczy tu wszystko - od nowoczesnego (jak na '03) hip hopu, przez klasyczne brzmienia z NY, aż po ragga, soul, czy inne karaibskie wariacje. Krążek ten jest bardzo zróżnicowany, ale przyznać trzeba, że ma gorące momenty, głównie wtedy, kiedy wchodzi zaproszony rapper. Missy Elliott niszczy system wraz z 'Party to Damascus', świetną robotę robią Scarface, Prodigy, Rah Digga, czy Redman, a w jamajskich klimatach dogrzewają klimat Elephant Man i Buju Banton. Dzięki tym gościom płyty słucha się bardzo dobrze, sam Wyclef mógłby nie dać rady pociągnąć tego wózka, pomimo swoich niewątpliwych talentów muzycznych. A tak mamy bardzo fajną płytę.
* Wyclef, as a member of Fugees is now a part of history with a legendary status. Having such a great resource of respect, he went solo and he did whatever he wanted. As a result we had plenty of records, that sound... differently. First albums sound proper for Fugees fans, but then Clef started going back to his Haitian roots. It is already shown here, on his fourth record. We have every type of sound here - we have modern rap (as for '03), classic NY vibe, ragga, soul and other Carribean variations. This album is varied, but I must admit that it has got some strong moments - especially when other rapper comes in. Missy Elliot distroys the system with 'Party to Damascus', we have excellent job done by Scarface, Prodigy and Redman and some ragga legends, as Elephant Man and Buju Banton. Due to those guest vocals I listen to this album with pleasure, Wyclef could not bare to put this thing up - despite his undoubted musical talents. So we have quite a nice record here.
