* Uwielbiałem przychodzić do sklepu Media Music Fan, bo tam zawsze leżało coś dla mnie w cenie 10-20 złych. Czasem wychodziłem z naręczami płyt, bo jeszcze kiedyś szef sklepu sprowadzał płyty z USA i często trafiały się cuda cudeńka - jak ten, bodajże czwarty album Al Kapone. W momencie wydania, rapper miał już status legendy podziemia Memphis, a jego płyty wychodziły na cały kraj. Ta płyta o takie preludium przed prawdziwym wybuchem sceny Memphis, którą wypchnęli Three 6 Mafia. Ale trzeba pamiętać o pionierach, którzy tworzyli podwaliny: nie tylko 3-6, ale również Gangsta Pat, 8Ball & MJG, Playa Fly, MC Mack, Tommy Wright III i właśnie Kapone. Mnóstwo syntezatorów i piszczał, g-funkowe melodie i niskie basy, do tego brutalne i często ociekające krwią opowieści z miejskiej dżungli to wyznacznik tej płyty. Ciężki, agresywny styl, który potrafi wywołać ciary. Świetna płyta, jeden z kamieni węgielnych sceny Memphis. I pomyśleć, że kupiłem to za 10 złych - dziś cena płyty nie schodzi poniżej 50 euro...
* I love coming to Media Music Fan shop, coz they always have something for me for the proce of 1-5 euro. Sometimes I was leaving the shop with bunches of cds, because the shop owner used to get the records from the USA and there were plenty of rap wonders - just like this one, fourth album from Al Kapone.In the moment of releasing it Al had a underground legendary status in Memphis and his records were distributed by majors. This album is a kind of prelude for the real boom of Memphis scene, which was blown up to the world by Three 6 Mafia. But we gotta remember about those who were the basis for that sound: not only 3-6, but also Gangsta Pat, 8Ball & MJG, Playa Fly, MC Mack, Tommy Wright III and Kapone. A lot of synthesizers, g-funk melodies and low bases matched with brutal and blood drippin stories from the city jungle - this is the sign of the album. Ruff, aggressive style can make u shiver. Great album, one of the milestones of Memphis rap. And just think I bought it for 2 euro - today it is not less than 50...
