* Rok 1993, gapię się już w Yo! MTV Raps, a u nas kasetowi piraci zaczynają tracić grunt pod nogami. Siedzę więc nocą przed telewizorem i oglądam czarno-biały teledysk do 'Electric relaxation' i mam wrażenie, że siedzę z nimi w tej kawiarni, łażę po NY - tak sugestywny był wówczas ten obraz. A jakiś czas później wyszło to u nas na kasecie - oryginalnej! Słuchając w te i we wte, rozkminiałem twarze na okładce, której w czasie słuchania niemal nie wypuszczałem z rąk. Jazzujące sample, ciepłe perkusje i basy, szum winyla i niepowtarzalne głosy Phife'a i Tip'a - to zdecydowanie najlepsza płyta ATCQ jak dla mnie - choć wiem, że niektórzy wolą wcześniejszą. Ale to jest klasyk absolutny, bardzo lubię do Maruderów wracać - znam płytę na pamięć. Przecież tu nie ma nawet średniego kawałka - a co mówić o słabym. Równy, genialny poziom od początku do końca.
* Year '93, I watch Yo! MTV Raps and here in Poland tape bootleggers start to loose their ground and the state is going to change the law to protect the artists rights. So I sit at night in front of the tv and I watch the black & white video for 'Electric relaxation' and I have a feeling that I sit with them in the cafe, wander around NY - the picture was so suggestive back then. And some time later the album was released here on tapes - original release! Listening to it from front to back and again, I was looking at the faces on the cover, matching the names with them - I had the cover almost all the time in my hands while listening. Jazzy samples, warm beats and basses and the vinyl noise and the unforgettable voices of Tip and Phife - it is definetly the best ATCQ album imho - even if I know that many people prefer the previous one - I enjoy this one more. But this one is an abosulte and undisputed classic and I like to come back to the marauders - I know the album by heart. There's no average song - not mentioning a weak one. Even, genious from the beginning to the end.
